Amarena cherries are small, dark, slightly sour cherries grown mostly in Bologna and Modena. Italians preserve them in sugar.
Nowadays if you say Amarena, you mean Fabbri. Unique, unmistakeable and unrivaled. Only the best cherries are selected. They are then candied in amarena (sour cherry) syrup, which follows the original recipe passes down from the company's founder.
The syrup is used to pour over cakes, ice cream or gelato. But you can do so much more with them!
Create a cheese tray with Parmigiano Reggiano, Tallegio, and Pecorino. Place small bowl of Amarena cherries in center of tray. Guests top cheese slices with delicious cherries and syruo.
